I was born in Rapallo in 1956 and now live in Genoa, but my story is mainly one of movement: sea, wind, paths, climbs, and descents.
I trained at the Nautical Technical Institute in Camogli, where I learned that orientation means knowing how to read your surroundings, choose a route, and adapt to conditions. This approach has also guided my sporting and professional career.
Outdoor sports have always been part of my life.
I started with competitive sports, testing myself against the competition and my limits: motocross and windsurfing, until I became regional champion and participated in national competitions. Then came mountain biking and with it a new freedom. Since MTB arrived in Europe, I have followed all its developments: cross country, granfondo, downhill, Mega Avalanche, Enduro, EMtb.
Each discipline has taught me something different about the body, the mind, and the territory.
Over time, performance has given way to awareness.
Becoming a mountain bike guide, instructor, and trainer of cycling tour guides has meant transforming experience into shared knowledge and effort into opportunities for discovery.
I believe in outdoor sports as a means of promoting the local area and cultural growth. This is why I created an association in Genoa, Monte Gazzo Outdoor, which promotes the local area through outdoor activities, and co-founded the cycling circuit “Il Cammino dei Santuari del Mare” (The Way of the Sea Sanctuaries), a project that combines cycling, landscape, history, and local identity, inviting people to experience places in a slow, respectful, and authentic way.
Today, I continue to cycle, plan, and train, convinced that cycle tourism is not just a way of traveling, but a way of being in places and valuing what is closest to us.
