Janosch Wintermantel is the founder of Epicos Events, an event company creating unique cycling experiences in some of the most spectacular locations in Europe and beyond as well as the first real European bikepacking festival in Europe – Pedaleo.
Before founding Epicos Events in 2022, he worked as Global Marketing Manager for Road, Gravel and Triathlon at SCOTT Sports, helping shape the brand’s presence in the rapidly growing gravel and endurance cycling scene.
Today, Epicos Events brings from pro athletes to adventure seekers together. The company organizes gravel races in destinations such as the Sahara Desert in Morocco and Gorafe Desert in southern Spain, Europe’s only desert, and is also behind Octopus Gravel, the largest gravel event in the Alps.
In 2025, Janosch and his team launched Pedaleo, the first European bikepacking festival, where riders from across Europe cycle to the shores of Lake Neuchâtel to connect, share stories and celebrate traveling by bicycle. A unique event and a must for every keen bike packer or touring cyclist.
