Every day, new bikes are considered for moving around the city, whether for daily use or an urban vacation (but not just that). Canyon has created an electric bike whose versatility makes it ideal for tackling all situations. In fact, all Precede:ON models are equipped with lights, mudguards, racks, pedals, and a kickstand.
It is an eclectic e-bike, suitable for everything, from city rides to day trips. Ideal as a daily commuting vehicle, it also works well for cycling in parks during free time. Thanks to pedal assist, hills and slopes can be easily conquered.
A route to explore with Precede:ON: Siena
The historic center of Siena is a perfect destination for the Canyon bike. This Tuscan city and its surroundings are among the most loved destinations by cycling tourists, so with advice from stradedisiena.it, let’s explore its famous center.
This is a short route with sudden climbs on the streets of the historic center, which can be tackled with ease thanks to the electric bike.
Starting from Piazza del Campo, head east and immediately encounter the Logge del Papa and the baroque facade of the Church of San Martino. Then cross the Contrada della Torre to reach the Basilica of Santa Maria dei Servi and enjoy the view over the city.

Without leaving the nearby Porta Romana, one of the oldest and most important gates of the city, head north to reach the Contrada del Nicchio. At the height of Via dell’Oliviera, turn right to reach the Church of San Gaetano di Thiene, oratory of the Noble Contrada del Nicchio.
Turning left around the oratory, you reach Piazza Santo Spirito, with the 14th-century church of the same name. The route continues through the Contrada del Leocorno to the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria in Provenzano, where the image of the Madonna of Provenzano is preserved, venerated under the title of “Advocata Nostra” and in her honor, the Palio is held on July 2nd. Just after the Collegiate is the Basilica of San Francesco, in the square of the same name, a 13th-century building that preserves the Eucharistic miracle of the ciborium with the Sacred Particles.
Now head north to reach the northern gate of the city, the ancient Porta Camollia, and from there, still staying within the walls, ride towards the Medici Fortress, a fort built in 1561 and now a public park for sports and cultural events. It’s time to stop and admire the city from the top of the bastions, looking out towards the hills.
Leaving the Contrada del Drago, descend to the Contrada della Selva where the Baptistery of San Giovanni and the Cathedral dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta are located. The tour ends in the eastern part of Siena, crossing the contradas of Pantera, Chiocciola, and Onda to the final stop, Piazza del Campo, where we started.
