ActiveItaly, to raise awareness about environmental protection issues and contribute to the cause, has launched the initiative “A Weekend of Street and Trail Clean-Up,” an activity to clear tourist paths, whether walked or cycled, of waste.
The World’s Largest Environmental Volunteering Event
Every year, hundreds of thousands of people across Italy come together with the common goal of cleaning up abandoned waste from streets, squares, city corners, urban parks, riverbanks, and beaches. This is the beneficial effect of “Clean Up the World” by Legambiente. The Active Italy initiative Clean Up Together Streets and Trails is recognized as part of Legambiente’s environmental days.
On March 4 and 5, 2023, every Active Italy operator participating in the project will organize a walk or bike ride in their area, combining the excursion with the cleaning of the road or trail (or part of it).
