Susanna Maggioni is Vice President of FIAB Italia and National Coordinator for Cycle Tourism. She is a certified Environmental Hiking Guide (GAE) and an Expert Promoter of Cycling Mobility, having completed a course at the University of Verona, for which she later carried out teaching activities on the FIAB “Comuni Ciclabili” network. She also has advanced training in Destination Management and is an EuroVelo Route Inspector.
She promotes the bicycle as a strategic tool for the development of destinations, the strengthening of local economies, and social inclusion. She has led numerous cycling tours — from family rides to gravel experiences — and regularly organizes and takes part in events and conferences on the themes of cycle tourism, mobility, and road safety. She is Programme Director of the international conference Velo-city, which will take place in Rimini from 16 to 19 June 2026.
FIAB, the Italian Federation for the Environment and the Bicycle, has for over 30 years promoted cycle tourism and carried out advocacy work for cycling in Italy. It is a member of European Cyclists’ Federation and is also the National EuroVelo Coordination Centre (NECC), contributing to the planning, governance, and promotion of long-distance European cycle routes within the national territory, engaging with stakeholders for healthier, more livable, and climate-resilient cities.
