Sebastiano Venneri

Sebastiano Venneri, a graduate in Sociology and member of the National Secretariat of Legambiente, is head of Tourism for the association, where he was Head of Campaigns and Vice President from 2008 to 2011. An expert in environmental communication and author of numerous publications, he is a freelance journalist and has worked for Rai and La Nuova Ecologia, among others. Since 2001, he has conceived and overseen the production of the “Guida Blu” (Blue Guide) by Legambiente and Touring Club Italiano, a guide to the most beautiful beaches and lakes in Italy, which awards the Cinque Vele (Five Sails) recognition to the best Italian coastal resorts.

He is co-founder and president of Vivilitalia, the Legambiente-owned company that deals with environmental tourism, for which he has overseen numerous territorial development projects based on environmental tourism in many different areas. For years, he has been involved in cycle tourism, working to improve the local tourist offer in this direction and collaborating on the mapping of numerous routes, including the GRAB (Grande Raccordo Anulare delle Biciclette in Rome), the ArcheoGRAB, the Ciclovia dell’Appennino, the Ciclonica, I Sentieri di Ermes, the Ciclovia di Falciano, and the Ciclovia della costa adriatica salentina. Responsible for Legambiente for the drafting of the annual Isnart-Legambiente report dedicated to the cycle tourism sector, he wrote for Mondadori Appennino Bike Tour, the guide to the Appennine cycle route with a preface by Francesco Guccini.
