Roberto Guido, a native of Puglia, is a journalist by profession and a cycling explorer by passion. A reporter for the Quotidiano di Lecce, Brindisi, and Taranto newspapers from 1979 to 1998, in 2000 he founded and directed quiSalento until 2017, overseeing the publication of several guides to the area, including Le 50 spiagge più belle del Salento (The 50 Most Beautiful Beaches in Salento) (2017).
He is one of the leaders of the Coordinamento dal Basso per la Ciclovia dell’Acquedotto Pugliese (Grassroots Coordination for the Apulian Aqueduct Cycle Route) and is one of the main activists of the LeccePedala active citizenship movement.
He is the creator of Ciclonica-Ciclovia del Salento Ionico, created by Vivilitalia on behalf of the Green Community Ionico Adriatica in 2024, for which he wrote the Ciclonica guide published by Ediciclo in 2025.
He is the creator of the Ciclovia del Salento Adriatico, currently under construction on behalf of the Parco Costa di Otranto – Santa Maria di Leuca e Bosco di Tricase.
With Ediciclo Editore, he published the first edition of “Ciclovia dell’Acquedotto Pugliese” (2018), followed by a second revised and expanded edition (2024), and the guides “In bici sui mari del Salento” (2020) and “In bici sulla via dei Sassi e dei Trulli” (2022).
With the updated texts of these last two guides, he then produced the volume “Puglia – Itinerari in bicicletta” (2023), published by Corriere della Sera in collaboration with Ediciclo.
With four different cycling routes, he collaborated on the publication of the series “Itinerari in bicicletta” (2022) and “In bicicletta” (2023) published by Repubblica and National Geographic.
