Matteo Aielli

Project Manager for Bikes at the Ponte di Legno-Tonale Consortium

I was born in Milan but grew up in Ponte di Legno from the age of 5. I have always been passionate about two wheels which, given the characteristics of the territory around the small mountain village, were primarily mountain bikes, and then I added road bikes during the period when I practiced triathlon, and I have always been passionate about cycling trips. After working as an architect for several years abroad, the pull back home was strong.

Back in Ponte di Legno, I continued with the profession of architect and, at the first opportunity, I took the bicycle and, starting from Ponte di Legno, reached Santiago de Compostela. Thanks to this cycling journey, I was able to work on what was perhaps the true feeling behind my return to my homeland. I became a hiking environmental guide and supported the training of MTB instructors.

I began working closely with the Ponte di Legno-Tonale Consortium, with which I was able to join the Ice Music project at Passo Paradiso during the winter; today I am one of the artists who creates the ice instruments. In summer, I manage bicycle-related events for the municipalities of the upper valley, and I take care of promoting new maintenance on the MTB trails in the bike area territory, which covers 500 km of routes straddling Lombardy and Trentino.
