Luigi Barbieri

Molise Region

Luigi Barbieri, born in 1974, is a surveyor and a civil servant at the Molise Regional Government. In 2023 he was appointed Project Manager (RUP) for the Innovative Programme for Housing Quality (PInQuA), funded under the Italian National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).

PInQuA, promoted nationally through the Italia Domani initiative, focuses on urban regeneration, improving the quality of public spaces, and strengthening community services. In Molise, the programme involves all 136 municipalities, with projects tailored to local populations that contribute not only to the renewal of urban centres but also to increasing their attractiveness and tourism potential.

Within this framework, the Weelo Bike Rental project has been developed—an innovative initiative unprecedented in terms of territorial scale. It will feature 146 automated bike rental stations distributed across Molise municipalities, offering different types of bicycles. The system aims to redefine local mobility, improving the quality of everyday travel for residents while introducing a new sustainable way for visitors to explore the region, generating tangible benefits for the development and promotion of the territory.
