The trail follows the route of the former railway of the same name, built between the 1920s and 1930s but decommissioned after World War II. Safe and well-marked, the trail offers a landscape with typically Venetian features: it crosses fields cultivated with corn, radicchio, and asparagus, countryside churches, natural areas, villages, and Venetian villas. Along its 85 km, the Treviso – Ostiglia route provides accommodations, rest and refreshment areas, bike parks, bicycle rental points, and services for cycle tourists.
It is a route suitable for all legs and all wheels: from families with children to well-trained long-distance cycle tourists. In fact, one of the main features of the route is that it intersects numerous other cycle paths, such as the GiraSile, the Brenta Cycle Route, the Bacchiglione Route (Vicenza-Padova), the Dolomiti-Venezia, and the AIDA, just to name a few.
Once the restoration work on the entire former railway is completed, the trail will offer cyclists a 120 km-long route that, beyond the province of Verona, will allow them to reach Mantua.
The Managing Entity (Soggetto Gestore) of the trail takes care of its maintenance and tourism promotion, providing information and tourist assistance. www.ciclabile-treviso-ostiglia.it
