“Piceno Bike” is a project that won the call for proposals “Bici in Comune,” an initiative aimed at municipalities and promoted by the Minister for Sport and Youth, with the support of the Department for Sport, through Sport e Salute S.p.A. and the National Association of Italian Municipalities – ANCI.
The Municipality of Ascoli Piceno is the lead body of a partnership formed by the following public and private entities: the municipalities of Acquasanta Terme, Roccafluvione, Venarotta, Montegallo and Montalto delle Marche, and the amateur sports association Gruppo Sganasso, Nardinocchi Bike Academy, ASD Progetto Ciclismo Piceno, and the Italian Federation for the Environment and Cycling (FIAB), Ascoli Piceno section.
The cycle-tourism routes promoted are: Grande Anello dei Borghi Ascolani, Ascoli Trail Area, Anelli Ascolani, GABA Bike Promo, Ascoli Enduro, and Ascoli Coppa Italia Trials.
The application “Ascoli Bike Tour” was created to manage the information contained in the project that won the “Bici in Comune” call. The application includes the cycle-tourism itineraries with interactive maps containing: GPX tracks, Komoot collections, information sheets, points of interest (POIs), videos of the routes, drinking fountains, and Trail View, that is, 360° views of the itineraries.
