At the Cycle Tourism Show, from 19 to 21 March 2027, there are three stages waiting to be filled with proposals coming from outside.
From those who design a cycle route and those who have ridden it. From those who cycle for a living and those who cycle for the love of it, and from the many people who started out for the love of it and ended up making it their job. From those who run a company, a public body, a consortium, an association, and from those who have nothing but a pair of panniers and a story worth telling.
We are looking for people who want to explain how to build a business plan for a bike friendly accommodation, and for others who have learned in the field how to pack for two weeks of bikepacking and want to pass it on. From those who usually speak to an audience of industry professionals and from those who have never set foot on a stage in their life.
Ways Stage. Cycle routes, itineraries, trails, cycling networks, destinations. This is where territories are discussed: how they are designed, how they are connected, how they are told to the people who will ride them. It is the stage of regions and DMOs, but also of anyone who has mapped a track nobody had put together before. If there is a territory you particularly care about, and you want to tell its story on the Show’s stage, this is your space.
Knowledge Stage. The “how it’s done”, in all its forms. How to work in cycle tourism (building a product, welcoming a cycle tourist to your accommodation, reaching foreign markets, measuring flows) and how to travel by bike: preparing your first trip, taking your bike on a train or a plane, eating well along the way, riding with children. Training for professionals and practical advice for riders share the same stage.
Stories Stage. The accounts. A journey you have made, a feat large or small, a project that worked and that others can learn from. There is room for the solo round-the-world ride and for a first week on a bike at forty, for bikepacking in Patagonia and for the good practice of a consortium that brought a valley back to life. What matters is that the story has something to say to those listening.
The call is open to anyone: companies, destinations, public bodies, tour operators, accommodation providers, guides, associations, researchers, journalists, travellers with no particular credentials.
Fill in the form, select the stage that suits you and tell us what you would like to bring: we will take care of the placement.
What interests us is the substance: a real experience, a concrete project, a skill that can be passed on in half an hour to the people listening. In the form you can describe your proposal in a maximum of 300 words: what you would talk about, who you would address, why it can interest the Show’s audience.
Applications close on 30 November 2026.
A committee assesses all proposals, looking at originality, concreteness and the ability to leave something with the audience. We will communicate the outcome by the end of January 2027, together with the stage and the slot assigned. Talks last a maximum of twenty minutes each and are spread across all three days of the Show: on Friday 19, during the Cycle Tourism Forum, the talks dedicated to the world of industry professionals will be concentrated, while on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 the talks will be aimed at a general audience.
Would you like to become an inspiration for someone else’s next holiday?
Over three days the Show gathers 27,000 visitors and more than 5,000 international professionals. 72% of visitors have already taken a cycling holiday and 81% choose their next destination right here at the Show: this is an audience that listens in order to decide.
The talks are powered by Bikeitalia, the most read cycling and cycle tourism publication in Italian, with one million readers a month.
