Ciclovie della Transumanza

Ciclovie della Transumanza is an active holiday project whose raison d’être is based on the most significant peculiarities of the territory where it takes place: an extraordinary natural area and the valorization of Transhumance, an intangible cultural heritage of humanity since 2019.

The tool we use to implement the project is the creation of a cycling network to connect a territory of fifteen thousand inhabitants and enhance its environmentalhistorical, and cultural excellence.

It takes place in a territory crossed by two national parksGran Sasso and Monti della Laga and Maiella, which offers tourists the opportunity to discover and admire architectures and sculptures of great value preserved for centuries in churches, palaces, and castles.

We are implementing the project with the local and resident population through a journey consisting of training and information workshops and local community engagement. Indeed, the inhabitants of this territory are the first and most reliable testimonials of Ciclovie della Transumanza.

And it is with them that we want to build the ideal conditions for harmonious economic development, accompanying them through a training program and the refinement of jobs useful for the development of the cycling network, mainly concerning hospitality and technical assistance for the cycling enthusiasts we will host.

Ciclovie della Transumanza aims to contribute to the creation of a new tourist destination and, in this way, create the best conditions for counteracting the current depopulation process.
