Founded in 1893 in Milan by Carlo Borghi, near Porta Romana, Cicli Olympia is one of the historic realities of Italian cycling. Born in an era when the bicycle was taking its first steps, the company initially combined the production of bicycles with that of motorcycles, and then devoted its energy and passion exclusively to cycling, which soon became its true vocation.
The iconic white jerseys with a black band enter history: with Olympia, Enrico Mollo achieves second place at the 1940 Giro d’Italia and Pietro Chiappini wins the Milan–Turin race in 1941. A bond with competition that has never been interrupted and that still today represents a distinctive trait of the brand. From the road races of the 1940s to today’s XCO World Cup events, competitions have always been the most demanding testing ground, the ideal terrain for developing cutting-edge technical solutions.
In 1960 the brand passed to the Fontana family, who moved production to Veneto. Today Olympia operates in the modern facility in Piove di Sacco (Padua), covering an area of 4,400 square meters, and is a brand appreciated at international level. In recent years, the e-bike range has also experienced strong growth, combining tradition with a decisive drive toward innovation, design, and advanced construction techniques.
In 2025, the acquisition by Lombardo Bikes marks the birth of a new Italian leader in the sector. Cutting edge, design, and innovation remain the essence of Olympia’s DNA, with a constant look to the future and firm roots in its own history.
