Livia Panella arrived in Maremma when she needed a fresh start.
Born in Rome and accustomed to working all over Italy, she chose to move to the province of Grosseto. Here she discovered a region that gave her much more than she was looking for: it gave her a new lease on life.
Before becoming director of Rama Travel, Livia founded HMO – Hakuna Matata Outdoor, a tour operator specializing in active tourism, together with her husband Alessandro Bertelli. For years, she has been doing what she does best: bringing people with different skills together and building projects together. Not only tour operators, but also artisans, environmental guides, institutions, and anyone who has something to say about the area.
Today, she works to promote the Maremma and Tuscany beyond the classic tourist destinations, as areas where everyone can find their own transformation. For Livia, it was about feeling welcomed and starting over. For Elin, the protagonist of New Tuscany New You, it was about discovering an authentic area by cycling the Grande Tour della Maremma, the cycling route that Livia will present at the Show.
