Family cycle tourism is much more than a trend: it is a way of traveling that combines well-being, discovery, and sharing. With children in tow, the bike becomes a tool for learning and fun, transforming every route into a slow and meaningful experience.
Pedaling together means slowing down daily rhythms, looking beyond the horizon, and building real memories, not virtual ones. It is an activity that promotes health, sociality, and respect for the environment, allowing families to discover places that are often little-known but full of charm.

The Cycle Tourism Show opens its doors to families
From March 27 to 29, 2026, the Cycle Tourism Show is coming to Padua as the largest event in Italy dedicated to bicycle travel, with exhibition spaces, routes, and talks designed to make cycle tourism accessible to everyone, even to those who have never pedaled or, for that matter, travel with children.
The program includes three thematic stages, but it is especially the Stories Stage (Palco Storie) that captures the attention of families: here, male and female travelers recount real experiences and inspirations for adventures on two wheels, showing how it is possible to organize fun and safe itineraries even for the littlest ones.
Through these stories, children learn that the bicycle can become a tool for discovery and an opportunity to share quality time with mom, dad, and siblings. At the same time, parents receive practical advice for planning routes suitable for the whole family, with playful stops and educational activities along the way.

FamilyGo: family-friendly cycle tourism
Inside the Show, the families’ point of view will be the protagonist in the talk by FamilyGo, a publication and community specialized in vacations and mobility for families. Margherita Grotto, a journalist for FamilyGo, and Elena Riatti, for the tour operator Girolibero, will present ideas and suggestions for planning bike trips suitable for everyone, with particular attention to the needs of children and their rhythms. It will be illustrated how to choose easy and safe routes, integrate fun and didactic stops along the way, and use digital tools that simplify travel organization.
The theme of travel as family growth will be at the center of the story of Andrea and Caterina, who together with their daughter Viola crossed Europe between bike and train, from the Jova Beach Party to Budapest. An opportunity to discover how cycle tourism can transform into an educational experience.
And for those wondering how it is possible to organize a bicycle holiday with very young children, in the talk by Silvia Camon, it will also be possible to listen to her direct experience of traveling by bike with a newborn baby.
The goal is to make cycle tourism accessible even to families on their first experiences, showing that exploring territories on two wheels can be an adventure to be lived together, without stress and with enthusiasm.

The young cycle tourist’s passport
Children will also be involved in the Show thanks to a simple but very effective idea: the “little cycle tourist’s passport.” Every child will be able to collect stamps at the stands, as if they were crossing the stages of a real bicycle journey, discovering curiosities, activities, and small challenges along the way.
This game stimulates curiosity, encourages participation, and allows the little ones to feel like protagonists of the experience, learning in a fun way. At the end of the path, a special surprise will await those who have completed the passport: in this way, the visit will transform into an interactive adventure, making the Show a moment of play, discovery, and creative stimulus for the whole family.

Why participate
The Cycle Tourism Show is a unique opportunity for families: a place where to be inspired, learn, and design the next bike adventure together.
