For over 20 years, Girolibero has been carefully planning cycling tours along cycle paths and selected routes throughout Europe. Some examples? The legendary Danube Cycle Path in Austria, the charming Loire Valley Cycle Path, the endless cycle paths among the windmills and canals of Holland, but also the coastal routes in Puglia, Portugal, Croatia, or further north in Denmark, along the Baltic coast, in Brittany, Finland, Ireland… There are also shorter and easier itineraries for families with children.
The experience to try? A cycling and boating holiday along rivers, canals, and coastal routes. Here’s how it works: during the day you cycle, and in the evening you board a hotel boat that follows the cyclists along the route. You sleep in comfortable cabins with private bathrooms, breakfast and dinner are served in the restaurant lounge, and the captain and crew take care of the guests on board. The Girolibero fleet has four boats, two sailing in Provence and Camargue, two in Italy between Mantua and Venice, and many other boats from reliable partners throughout Europe to try the experience in the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Germany, Croatia, Greece…
Where do Girolibero trips begin? At our headquarters in Vicenza: the entrance is in the kitchen, to make you feel at home. On the terrace, there are 12 lemon trees that smell like “Viaggio in Italia” (Journey to Italy); the desks are height-adjustable so you can work sitting down or standing up; thanks to photovoltaic panels, we recharge our electric bikes, keep the coffee machine on, and cook lunch.
Every room, including the bike workshop, has glass walls: you can see how the trips are created and how the more than 2,500 bicycles are maintained.
